Prof. Kingo Mchombu, from University of Namibia, from 4 to 5 January 2010, conducted a very successful training workshop to middle level and senior staff of Tanzania Library Services Board.

The training focused on concepts, strategic planning processes, balanced score card approach, annual management plan processes, SWOT analysis, role of managers and the planning office and monitoring and evaluation. These were discussed in relation to the TLSB strategic plan.

“I am highly impressed by the level of participants’ participation in the ensuing discussions and issues”, Prof. Mchombu commented at the end of the training workshop. “I am also delighted that TLSB management will so be dominated by young blood…”, Prof. Mchombu could not hide his deep personal feeling.

As for staff, they found the training extremely useful and relevant to their duties and TLSB changing environment.

“It only took Prof. Mchombu two days to make me an expert in strategic planning”, one participant happily commended Prof. Mchombu’s skills in teaching.
