The School of Library Archives and Documentation Studies (SLADS) has enrolled a total of 849 students this (2011) academic year.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. Alli Mcharazo, was informed of this new exciting development when offering a new academic year for SLADS students.

"There is no doubt that SLADS is now leading in Africa for enrolling the biggest number of Library and Information Studies student..."
Dr. Mcharazo informed the gathering of new students of Ukuni Campus in Bagamoyo.

Dr. Mcharazo who is the Chairman of the SLADS Governing Council and TLSB Director General urged students to study hard.

The function was attended by District Administrative Secretary of Bagamoyo District and SLADS academic sommunity that included students and staff from both campuses: Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo.
