The Tanzania Library Services Board, headed by its Chairperson Prof Matthew Luhanga, on October 30, 2009, visited the School of Library, Archives and Documentation Studies (SLADS), at Ukuni campus, in Bagamoyo. Prof Luhanga was accompanied by 5 Board Members. On behalf of the other Board Members, Prof Luhanga commended the Management of TLSB and SLADS for taking a courageous decision to move the school from ADEM to its own campus in Ukuni area. “The most important thing is to have a determination to grow… and you’ll certainly grow…”, Prof Luhanga commented when speaking to staff of SLADS. Apart from visiting various facilities at the School, the Board also had an opportunity to speak to SLADS students. He urged the students to study hard because the country needs more library and information professionals.
